Responsibilities

The Office of the Historian’s primary focus is to interpret the past. The historian gathers and evaluates local historical information and serves as the Town and Village historian as a resource for students and the public who are interested in our community’s history.  The office of Historian promotes and encourages the preservation of historic manuscripts and other records and serves as a content consultant to historical agency exhibit planners.

The Historian will help to organize and commemorate historical anniversaries and participate in other civic and patriotic observations. The office is both an advocate for historic preservation and a resource to the appointing authority on questions relating to history and preservation.

Bonnie’s office is located at the Town Hall.
