Announcements From Supervisor Douglass

March 6, 2026

I hope everyone has been enjoying the break from the cold with the few nice days we’ve seen recently!

Tonight the Au Sable Forks Knights of Columbus Council is offering their famous Fish Fry. If you haven’t had the opportunity to indulge in this amazing dinner yet, tonight and March 20th are the final two servings of the season.

The fish fry will be served from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM, and dinner is available for takeout or dine-in at the Holy Name Parish Center. If you’re able, stop by, enjoy a delicious meal, and support our local Knights of Columbus.

Youth Basketball Update
We are coming into the final two weeks of the youth basketball season, and we’ve received some updates from our coaches.

Coach Crowningshield reported that “the girls are really clicking together, working on fundamentals, and getting ready for the next level.”

Coach Valentin shared that “the girls are working extremely hard. Even with only five players available for some games, they continue to push through and give it their all.”

Youth Ski Program Update
Our ski coordinator Savannah Atkins reported, “The ski program has been going very well overall, aside from a few extremely cold days earlier in the season. Last weekend brought perfect weather and all the kids had a great day on the slopes. Parents have also been amazing in supporting the program. I even had the opportunity to ski alongside one of the kids, and I really enjoyed the experience.”

AMVET Redemption Center

Town of Black Brook receiving some much appreciated love and support from the AMVET Redemption Center.

"Charitable Highlights Mar 3rd-9th: This week  we'd love to bring your attention to the town of Black Brook. They have decided to do their annual Labor Day celebration once again. Let's help them make it bigger and better than ever before! Remember, we like to think a community is bigger than town lines so lets show them some love."

New York State Burn Ban Reminder
As we move into spring, residents are reminded that the New York State burn ban will soon be in effect. The annual burn ban runs March 16 through May 14 and prohibits residential brush burning to help prevent wildfires during the dry spring season.

Please be mindful of these regulations and take precautions to help keep our community safe.
