Hello residents and community,
I hope everyone had a great week and was able to stay cool during yesterday's high temperatures.
We started our week with a Public Hearing for public review of the Town's Comprehensive Plan, followed by our monthly Town Board Meeting. Thank you to everyone who attended and participated. Community involvement is what helps make our town strong, and I appreciate residents taking the time to stay informed and engaged.
As soon as the meeting minutes are completed, they will be available on our website:
https://www.blackbrookny.gov/meeting-minutes
I will also publish the meeting minutes next week once they become available.
The Town Board will conduct a Public Hearing regarding a proposed Local Law that would authorize a Volunteer Firefighter and Volunteer Ambulance Worker Property Tax Exemption within the Town of Black Brook.
The purpose of the proposed Local Law is to recognize and support the dedicated service provided by volunteer firefighters and volunteer ambulance workers by offering a property tax exemption as authorized under New York State Law.
All interested residents are encouraged to attend and provide comments regarding the proposed exemption.
Residents are encouraged to attend and stay informed on local projects, initiatives, and matters affecting our community.
Both meetings will be held at:
Town of Black Brook Town Hall
18 North Main Street
Au Sable Forks, NY 12912

During our June Town Board Meeting, we were pleased to welcome Geri Favreau from the Clinton County Historical Association, who presented information regarding the upcoming America250 Commemoration taking place October 9-11, 2026.
America250 marks the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding and serves as an opportunity to reflect on our history while celebrating the people, places, and events that have shaped our communities.
Mrs. Favreau also left several informational materials with the Town, including a coloring and activity book created by the Clinton County Historical Association. These materials are available at the Town Hall.
I encourage residents to learn more about this historic celebration and the events planned throughout Clinton County.

This week, we are proud to recognize an outstanding member of the Class of 2026 from AuSable Valley Central School (AVCS).
Jasmine Mille - AVCS
"Jasmine's parents and family are very proud of her. Jasmine is loved by many. Good luck with everything that you want to accomplish."
As someone with daughters around the same age as Jasmine, I have had the opportunity to watch her grow up within our community. One thing that has always stood out to me is her passion for basketball and her understanding of the game.
While I have not had the opportunity to coach Jasmine at the school level, I have enjoyed watching her compete over the years. A few years ago, her father coached a travel basketball team that scrimmaged against one of my teams, and even then it was clear that Jasmine had a special love for the game.
Beyond athletics, Jasmine has grown into a respectful and hardworking young woman. Our community has had the privilege of watching her grow and succeed, and we are proud to celebrate her accomplishments alongside her family and friends.
Jasmine, I hope to see you around town this summer. Enjoy these final high school moments with your friends, make lasting memories, and take pride in all that you have accomplished.
On behalf of the Town of Black Brook, congratulations on your graduation. We wish you continued success, happiness, and many achievements in the years ahead. Your future is bright, and we look forward to seeing where your journey takes you.

As always, thank you for the opportunity to keep you informed about what is happening in our community.
I hope everyone enjoys this beautiful weekend, spends time with family and friends, and takes advantage of everything our wonderful community has to offer.
Thank you,
Supervisor Jon Douglass
