The Town of Black Brook’s regular monthly Town Board Meeting will be held Monday, August 10, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 18 North Main Street, Au Sable Forks, NY 12912.
Community participation is strongly encouraged. Attending Town Board meetings is a great way to stay informed about local decisions, upcoming projects, and issues affecting our town, while also providing residents with an opportunity to share input and be actively involved in our community.

A couple of important reminders from our local JCEO Community Outreach Center:
Back-to-School Supplies: Please be sure to submit your request for back-to-school supplies by Thursday, August 13. When requesting supplies, please bring the following documentation: adult photo ID, child’s birth certificate, and proof of income.
Fresh Food Box Reminder: If you are signed up for a Fresh Food Box and do not plan on picking up your box, please contact Renee at the office by Monday at 2:00 p.m. This helps ensure that available food can be distributed and does not go to waste.

Mini Mites Soccer Registration is now open! This instructional program is available for children entering kindergarten this September.

Soccer practices for our 1st–6th grade teams began this week! Game schedules are expected to be released by the Clinton County Youth Bureau on or around August 15, with games beginning the week of August 22 and continuing through October 10.
We also need your help spreading the word about soccer officials!
Like many youth sports, soccer continues to face a shortage of officials, and enrollment for the County’s referee training has also been low. Officials are compensated $22 or $24 per game, depending on the level of play.
Please share the attached flyer with anyone who may be interested. Without County officials, we must rely solely on assistant coaches or parent volunteers to officiate games. Having trained officials makes a tremendous difference for our players, coaches, and families.

Plain Jane - Back by Popular Demand!
We’re excited to welcome Plain Jane back for a special Saturday evening performance, and The Dogfather will be back with us Saturday night! Be sure to stop by, grab something to eat, and enjoy an evening of live music at the River Park.
Supervisor Douglass has been working with Cemetery Revival to bring a unique community service opportunity to the Town of Black Brook. We are excited to partner with their organization to help preserve and care for the Old Black Brook Presbyterian Cemetery while honoring the local families and history represented there.
On Saturday, August 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Cemetery Revival will lead a hands-on gravestone cleaning and preservation event at the Old Black Brook Presbyterian Cemetery, 815 Silver Lake Road, Au Sable Forks.
This is more than just a cleanup; it is an opportunity for residents, families, youth groups, and community organizations to learn the proper techniques for cleaning and preserving historic gravestones while helping protect an important piece of our Town’s history.
No experience is necessary, and all training and materials will be provided. Families, friends, youth groups, and community organizations are encouraged to participate.
Supervisor Douglass and the Town of Black Brook are grateful to Cemetery Revival for bringing their knowledge and experience to our community and for helping us preserve this historic cemetery for generations to come.
We are continuing to work behind the scenes as plans come together for the Town of Black Brook’s 2026 Labor Day Weekend Celebration, Saturday, September 5 & Sunday, September 6!
There is a lot happening throughout the weekend, and registration is open for our Community-Wide Yard Sales, Craft & Vendor Fair, and Annual Labor Day Parade!
Our Community-Wide Yard Sales will take place Saturday and Sunday, September 5 & 6. If you are planning to hold a yard sale and would like to be included, please be sure to register in advance so we can include your sale on our map.
Our Craft & Vendor Fair will also take place throughout Labor Day Weekend at the Town of Black Brook River Park. We welcome local crafters, vendors, businesses, organizations, and nonprofits to join us.
Advance registration is required, so please get your registration in if you are planning to participate!

Our Annual Labor Day Parade will step off at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, with festivities to follow at the River Park!
We would love to see our local businesses, organizations, fire departments, community groups, families, floats, vehicles, and anyone else who would like to participate join us this year.
Pre-registration for the parade is greatly appreciated, but it is NOT required! If you decide at the last minute that you would like to join us, we would still love to have you.
