ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM SUPERVISOR DOUGLASS

November 6, 2026

Good afternoon, everyone!

As we head into another weekend, I would like to share a few important Town updates, upcoming meetings, and community events.

TOWN BOARD MEETINGSS: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9

We have two important meetings scheduled for this coming Monday at the Town Hall, located at 18 N Main Street, Au Sable Forks, NY.

5:30 PM - Public Hearing: Proposed 2027 Town Budget

The Town Board will hold a public hearing on the Proposed 2027 Town Budget. This is an opportunity for residents to review the proposed budget, ask questions, and provide input before the Board considers its adoption.

6:00 PM – Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting

Our regular monthly meeting will follow the budget hearing. We encourage residents to attend, stay informed about Town business, and participate in discussions affecting our community.

Both meetings are open to the public, and virtual participation is available.

COMMUNITY EVENTS: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7

We have a couple of wonderful community fundraisers happening this weekend, and I encourage everyone to get out and show their support!

‍

Christmas in the Forks - Christmas Tree Fundraiser

Join the folks at 20 Main Bar in Au Sable Forks on Saturday, November 7, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM for a fundraiser supporting the Christmas in the Forks celebration.

The afternoon will feature a silent auction, guest bartender, reindeer games, a 50/50 raffle, music, and more!

Christmas in the Forks is a special tradition that brings our community together during the holiday season. Events like this are made possible through the generosity and hard work of local volunteers, businesses, and residents.

The Christmas in the Forks Committee is also welcoming sponsors for this year's fireworks display. Sponsorships submitted by November 18 will be included on the holiday fireworks sponsor banner.

‍

Cornhole Tournament & Benefit for Lucy Goff

Also on Saturday, November 7, our community will come together at the Au Sable Forks Fire Station, 2456 State Route 9N, for a fundraiser benefiting Lucy Goff and her family.

Lucy has spent years caring for children in our community as a daycare provider and is now facing a serious battle with cancer.

Registration for the cornhole tournament begins at 11:00 AM, with the tournament starting at 12:00 PM.

The event will also feature a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction.

  • Cornhole Tournament: $50 per team
  • Spaghetti Dinner: Adults $15; children 12 and under $10
  • Chinese Auction: Tickets available for purchase

For additional information, please contact Miranda Douglas at 518-534-0711 or Kayla Santo at 518-572-2865.

This is another opportunity for our community to do what it does best, come together and support one of our own. Whether you participate, donate, or simply stop by to show your support, every gesture of kindness matters.

YOUTH COMMISSION UPDATE: BASKETBALL

We know many families are looking forward to the upcoming youth basketball season!

Jessie will be meeting with the Clinton County Youth Bureau next week as we continue preparations for our winter programs.

We also anticipate having our Basketball Program Coordinator in place next week, and families should begin seeing basketball registration information and sign-ups shortly thereafter.

We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to get another successful season underway for our young athletes.

Please keep an eye on the Town's website and community announcements for registration details.

‍

JCEO UPDATE: THANKSGIVING MEAL BASKETS

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I would also like to remind everyone of an important opportunity available through JCEO.

The deadline to apply for a Thanksgiving Meal Basket is Friday, November 13.

The holiday season can be a difficult time for some families, and we want to help ensure that those who could use a little extra assistance know this program is available.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a Thanksgiving meal basket, please reach out to:

Renee at JCEO
518-647-5411, extension 3

Please help us spread the word. Sometimes sharing information with a neighbor, friend, or family member can make a meaningful difference.

‍

As always, I want to thank the volunteers, local organizations, businesses, and residents who continue to give their time and resources to make our community a better place.

From supporting families facing difficult times to keeping our holiday traditions alive and providing opportunities for our youth, these efforts are what make Au Sable Forks and the Town of Black Brook such a special place to call home.

I encourage everyone to enjoy the weekend, support our local fundraisers if you can, and join us Monday evening for our Town Board meetings.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend!

Supervisor Douglass
