Hello residents,
I hope everyone has fared well through this week’s windy weather and has had a great week overall.
Tonight is the final Knights of Columbus Famous Fish Fry! If you haven’t had a chance to enjoy a meal yet and are able to attend, your last opportunity is Tonight at Holy Name Parish, served from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM.
While on the topic of our local Knights of Columbus, we have some exciting news for Labor Day Weekend. The Knights will be sponsoring a Holy Name Labor Day Weekend BBQ! Tentatively, the BBQ will be held from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Holy Name Church grounds. The BBQ pit is covered, and the gymnasium will be available for seating, so the event will take place rain or shine. The menu will include BBQ chicken, along with hot dogs and hamburgers for kids and anyone who prefers an alternative. Sides will include corn-on-the-cob, baked potatoes, and coleslaw. More details will be shared as we get closer to the event.
We also heard from John Pulsifer, a lifelong resident of Upper Jay and one of our outstanding volunteer youth baseball coaches. John will be sponsoring a dunking booth during the Labor Day festivities on Sunday, September 5th, following the parade. His baseball team will be running the booth, with all proceeds benefiting the team. Thank you, John, for your continued dedication to our youth. Our programs truly would not be successful without volunteers like you.
We will continue working behind the scenes on Labor Day planning and will share updates as plans are finalized.

Basketball season has officially wrapped up, and it was a fantastic season for all teams! We are proud of every player, not just for their athletic achievements, but for the life skills they develop through sports: teamwork, leadership, communication, and coachability.
A sincere thank you to all of our volunteer coaches at every level. Your passion and commitment to our youth do not go unnoticed, and we greatly appreciate the time and effort you put in.
Both the 5/6 boys and girls Junior Patriots teams have continued working with players during the offseason. Thank you to Holy Name Parish and the Town of AuSable Civic Center in Keeseville for providing space for our athletes to continue developing their skills.
This Sunday marks the final day of the ski program, and it’s a free ski day. We’re hoping for great weather so the kids can fully enjoy it.
