Good evening residents and community,
I hope you all have had a great week and are looking forward to more spring-like weather ahead.
I’d like to provide an update on our Comprehensive Plan. I encourage everyone to take a look at the drafted plan using the link below. As always, we welcome your feedback and value resident involvement. I’m happy to share that, after a very lengthy process, we are in the final stages of completing this project.
The Comprehensive Plan Committee has scheduled a public hearing for April 26th at 6:00 PM for public review of the proposed plan.

JCEO Update:
Renee served 46 families this week during Monday’s Fresh Food Day. It’s amazing, and we are proud to support so many families in our community.
On Thursday, Renee received a generous donation of two complete ham dinners for Easter for families in need from an anonymous returning donor who gives multiple times each year. We are truly grateful.

Renee also received 50 handmade Easter cards from Au Sable Forks Elementary School students to be distributed to our seniors. We can’t wait to see the smiles on Monday when they receive them. These same students created Christmas cards earlier this year, and they were greatly appreciated.
We are incredibly proud of the Au Sable Forks Elementary School students and their amazing art teacher, Mrs. Mitchell, for their kindness. They are making a difference, our youth are our future.

On the topic of youth, be sure to check out the AVCS Winter Sports Celebration flyer below.
Renee has also started a coupon wall right outside her office door. If you’re in the office, take a look and feel free to take any coupons you can use. She is always accepting donations for the food pantry and items for our Community Cares shelves.

As we look ahead to the warmer days of spring, it’s always nice to reflect on the beauty and wildlife that make our area so special. From quiet mornings to peaceful afternoons by the water, there’s no shortage of moments to appreciate right here at home.
Ending with a photo captured by Julie Evoy Photography of some beavers out enjoying a day in Fern Lake a few weeks ago.

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Easter weekend with your families. I look forward to seeing you around town.
