The Town of Black Brook would like to notify all Water District #2 customers in the Hamlet of Black Brook that the district is once again under a Boil Water Order.
Please be advised that the Boil Water Order that was lifted earlier this morning is no longer in effect.
A water main break occurred on Haselton Road this morning. Repairs were completed this evening; however, as a precautionary measure and in accordance with New York State Department of Health requirements, all customers served by Water District #2 are now under a Boil Water Order until further notice.
Residents should bring all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, or preparing food to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use.
Following the repair, water quality samples must be collected and analyzed to ensure the safety of the drinking water supply. The Boil Water Order will remain in effect until the required bacteriological testing has been completed and satisfactory results have been received and approved by the Clinton County Health Department and New York State Department of Health.
We understand the inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to ensure the safety of the water system.
The Town will provide updates as soon as test results become available and will notify residents immediately when the Boil Water Order has been lifted.
